What Gets Damaged in a Flood?

Warped Brake Rotor What parts of your vehicle are damaged in a flood can depend on how high the water is, but there are some notable parts that may need repairs. Low lying flood waters can rather easily warp your brake rotors so it may be a good idea to have them inspected shortly after a storm. If left unattended to, warped brake rotors can affect your ability to come to a stop.

If your vehicle was sitting in water that was tall enough, its engine may have been damaged. This will likely be characterized by your engine stalling as water gets sucked into the cylinders through the air intakes. This can lead to poor engine performance and we can take care of that at our collision center by performing an engine repair.

Finally, in really high flood waters, the water may actually enter the cabin of the vehicle and cause interior damage. In this case, we may need to replace the seats and upholstery to remove any mold and grime left behind by the water.
