What Is a Fender Bender?

A fender bender can be defined as a minor collision between two vehicles at low speeds. Now, there are multiple situations and accidents that can be described as a fender bender, such as:

  • Rear-end collisions.
  • Backing into a vehicle parked behind you in a parking lot.
  • Striking a car in your blind spot when attempting to switch lanes on the highway.
  • Bumping into a car when taking a wide turn into a parking spot.

Although fender benders rarely cause injury, they can leave your vehicle with significant damage.

Common Damages Caused by Fender Benders

The reason these accidents are called fender benders is because most of the damage is done to your vehicle’s fenders or its frame. Although the damage may look minimal on the outside, you should be aware of these potential underlying damages:

  • Alignment issues
  • Dents and scratches
  • Suspension and steering troubles
  • Trunk, hood, or door damage
  • Wheel-well rubbing

A technician may also find that damage was done to your vehicle’s electrical system or an important engine component.

Fortunately, our crew of technicians can help get your vehicle back up and running.
